Time spent with the Springfield bunch yesterday was a BLAST!
We had a financial literacy workshop delivered by Abang Abu – yup, that celebrity columnist of the Ekoniaga column in Berita Harian.
It was rather interesting looking at how the workshop was conducted. The approach used is what some would call, IEL – Indoor-based Experiential Learning. Quite rare to observe IEL delivered excellently nowadays.
What is IEL, you asked? In short, it is a dynamic learning process that engages participants through reflection on doing. OK, maybe more on that on another entry next time.
In that workshop, Abang Abu led the bunch in playing the Cashflow 101 boardgame. Boy, did they really struggle in getting out of the Rat Race. Some actually did! Not bad for first timers.
In fact, we had a runaway winner with earnings of $2.5 million!
Despite not being successful in getting out of the Rat Race, everyone had fun. But more importantly, they took away from it some important life lessons.
One of those lessons the bunch should have known by now is:
A.B.U – Always Believe in Urselves!
Haha…enjoy the pics.
